[Presentation] Kaiser Hamid to Present at the 69th HFES International Annual Meeting

HiACE Lab PhD student Kaiser Hamid, supervised by Dr. Nade Liang, was selected to present his research titled:

“A New Evaluation Metric for Takeover Maneuver Quality: Comparing Human Drivers with Autonomous Driving Agents.”

The presentation was scheduled for the 69th Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) International Annual Meeting, held October 13–17, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

This study introduces a new evaluation metric for takeover maneuver quality during transitions in conditionally automated driving. By comparing the behavioral responses of human drivers and autonomous driving agents, the work assesses safety, smoothness, and control stability in time-critical scenarios.

The proposed framework contributes to more standardized performance measures for evaluating human–automation collaboration and improving the design of takeover intervention systems.
